Dear Parents and youth,
Crosslife is going to KYCK (Katoomba Youth Convention)! KYCK is a camp where thousands of teenagers from all over Australia converge on Katoomba for an amazing weekend of Bible teaching and encouragement. KYCK is a conference for high schoolers but as we inviting Year 6 to join us in term 4, we would love to welcome them to join us. We are staying at Mountain Camp right next to the conference centre. The weekend will cost $250 per person. This is a significant cost, but I strongly believe it is worth it. However, there is help for those in need – contact me directly (see details below). We do not want finances to stop anyone from coming! At this point, we have 50 tickets available. These will be allocated as rego forms are received. If necessary, we will prioritise regular members of Crosslife Youth. I’m really excited to see what God has in store for us over this weekend and I know it will be a fantastic time together as we dig into the gospel of Mark!
Warm Regards, Murray Border0400 397 274murray@shellharbourcityanglican.org.au Registration and Payment. Please use this link to fill out a registration form for your children and complete payment.
Timing & Travel arrangementsWe are attending KYCK on 22-24 September. For most, this is the last day of Term 3. Youth will travel together via bus. We will leave from the church carpark at 4:00pm so we can check-in to accommodation before the first session starts at 7:30pm. Please be prepared to come straight to church after school to leave on time. The conference finishes at 12:30pm on Sunday, so after we eat lunch and travel home, I anticipate we’ll arrive back to church by about 4pm Sunday afternoon. We encourage everyone to stay for church at 6pm (finish at about 7) but understand that your child may be tired and need to be picked up before church. I will post an ETA on the Parents Facebook page if we are running late.
What to bring• Bedding (i.e., pillow & sleeping bag)• Toiletries• Towel• Enclosed shoes• Appropriate clothing— Katoomba in spring can be really hot, really cold, or really wet! Please be prepared for any of these scenarios.• Bible • A pen• Yes, you can bring lollies to share if you want.
NOTE: Please note that for safety and accountability purposes, there will be a “no devices in rooms” policy on camp.
